Spanish Ministry

The members of the TBT Spanish Church have been reaching out to the Spanish-speaking people of Tucson for 24 years.  It is a joy to many to be able to sing and study and worship in their beautiful native tongue here at Tucson Baptist Temple.
Mateo Villa is the pastor of the Spanish Church, which meets in the TBT chapel.  Mateo is a native of Mexico.  He and his wife Lucy have been working with the Spanish speaking people of the Tucson Baptist Temple since 1993, and has served as the Spanish Church pastor for 5 years.  He also serves as the Spanish Music Director.  Mateo works as a SunTran bus operator.

         The Spanish Ministry at TBT began in 1979, when Lucy and Ruth Abels (now in Heaven) followed God's calling to pioneer a Sunday School Class for the Spanish speaking people at TBT.  A Spanish Worship service came as a result of many prayers, and a congregation working together to reach souls for Christ.  Many people have been saved, baptized, and joined the church, and many Hispanic children have come to our Sunday School as a result of the Spanish Ministry.

Nuestra meta es presentar el Evangelio del Señor Jesucristo a la comunidad Hispana de Tucson y sus alrededores.  Reconocemos de suma importancia motivar al pueblo Cristiano a testificar de Cristo a sus vecinos, compañeros de trabajo, y familiares, por medio de la palabra de Dios, literatura Cristiana, e invitaciones personales.  Ofrecemos consejería, compañerismo y una sana doctrina Cristiana que llena el alma, edifica el espiritu, alienta la esperanza y lo prepara para enfrentarse con la vida.
