Prayer Network
Whether you communicate your prayer requests by phone, email
or U.S. Postal mail, you'll need to follow the guidelines below to insure
fast, accurate communication between you and the TBT staff.
To bypass difficulties that may come with live interaction in a merger such
as this, a staff member will approve each submission before passing it on to
our prayer partners. Help us help you by following the guidelines
below. Non-conforming submissions may be edited.
Posts should focus on two major areas: 1) prayer requests themselves; and 2)
Testimonies and praise reports of answered prayers.
Do ask for definite things and expect definite answers.
Do give only the information you wanted communicated.
Be concise. The more detail you give the greater chance of error when
the request is relayed. Do not take up precious time by phone, email, or for
the reader with details that are not related to the subject at hand.
Do honor people's privacy. Do not give
names or addresses -- email or otherwise -- in requests for prayer about
marital problems, abusive relationships, job problems, etc. God knows
their names, we'll just pray with you for "your friend."
Do use the best tools for your communication as
possible. If you are writing by email, do not use all capitalization.
In netiquette, all caps are interpreted as EMPHASIS or SHOUTING. If
you are calling the office to report a prayer concern, speak in a calm,
rational voice. If you are writing, use complete sentences and take care
that your writing is easy to read.
Do proofread your communication before sending it or
calling it in. Typos and run-on sentences often make it
difficult to figure out what someone wants to say. Think carefully before
you open your mouth, pick up your pen, or begin typing.
Do renew your request after two weeks, if your prayer
need continues. Your request will be on the church list as a
new request the first week, and a continuing request the second week.
If you wish the request to continue to be listed, call or email the church
office no later than Tuesday afternoon of the third week.
Do NOT include solicitation of funds. We
cannot research all such requests we receive. Therefore, we do not
include any appeals for donations.
Finally, DO keep us posted! Send
in a praise report as a follow-up. Testifying to the Lord's goodness
is scriptural and helps build faith in the prayer partners standing with
you. Answers to prayer are encouraging to those who stand in prayer with
you.
