Dr.
Louis W. Johnson
pastor emeritus
For 50 years Pastor Johnson has faithfully lead the
congregation of TBT. He's seen them through building projects, special
days, life, death, birth, and all the details in the tasks
of a Godly Walk. He is a teacher, pastor, friend, confidant and
guider to the Truth. He is an example and encourager, he is an inspiration
and life advisor. What more is there? Pastor Johnson recently retired on
July 6, 2008. Although he has had some recent health issues, he stands
by ready to help and serve any pastor the church chooses, and looks forward
to his new role in the Lord's work.
Jim

Assistant Pastor, etc.
Jim and Bev Howard are both graduates of Baptist Bible College.
Jim additionally holds a master's degree in Christian Counseling. Jim
currently is the assistant pastor, Sunday school superintendent, teacher of
the Marriage Builders, and Family Life Center director. Jim and Beverly have
begun their 30th year of ministry with Pastor Johnson and TBT. They have two
grown, joyful children: Vanessa Frisinger, and Noel Howard; they also have
two delightful grandchildren. Beverly is a private piano and voice
instructor with Andante Studio.
Kelly
Beitel
Youth Mentor and Teacher
Kelly began attending TBT in 1976, an act that was the result of a constant
open invitation by Glenda Lowrie and her son for seven years! He finally got
"rounded up" on Round-Up Sunday. He accepted Christ that same year and was
baptized shortly thereafter. Kelly began working in the 4-year-old's second
hour class in 1977. He hasn't stopped ministering since. In 1979 he began
driving the church stationwagon as part of the bus ministry, and in 1982,
finally old enough to drive a real bus, graduated to the big time. He still
loves getting behind the wheel! He's worked as the middle school
superintendent, as well. But Kelly's true love and passion for the last 13 years has been full-time youth pastor. His dedication to Christ's work and
our future church leaders is truly without question.
Steve
Ackerman
Golden Years
Director
Born in a wheat field in Western Kansas, Steve has a passion for open
spaces and often ponders it's significance in his life. "In this
space we discover ourselves, our need for God and our ideal work for
Him, " Steve says. "Finding this takes time, where we feel free to
grow and be who God gently coaches us to be through His 'still, small voice'." For
Steve, it's been a long and varied journey. Educated at the
University of Colorado, he accepted Christ in 1976 and studied to be a
minister in the Church of the Brethren. Steve pastored a
rural church in Central Missouri for 10 1/2 years, then moved to
Tucson in 1997 and began serving as TBT visitation minister.
Since that time he has embraced numerous tasks, and seeks above all
to give of himself as Christ would.
Will
Everett
Finance Engineer
Will moved to Tucson from Illinois in 1971 with his wonderful wife Gayla and
two terrific kids. Now after 36 great years in the Arizona desert, his life
has blossomed to include three beautiful grandchildren. Will became
affiliated with TBT in 1973 while as a partner at Cholla Accounting.
Retiring from business in 1986, he thought his major work load was lifted.
But God and Pastor Johnson had other plans. Bored with gardening anyway,
Will accepted the position of master accountant with TBT in 1997. "I feel
blessed and honored to be affiliated with Pastor Johnson and all the great
people here at TBT," Will confesses. A calm and comforting soul, Will adds a
professional presence to all of the business aspects of TBT.
Adrian
Reed
Minister of Music
Adrian and Pam Reed are the newest inductees to the TBT team, joining up in
August 2002. The Reeds come to TBT from Temple Baptist Church in Fort Worth,
where they served for 9 years in the music ministry. Pam, was executive
secretary to the president of Arlington Baptist College. Prior to that, the
Reeds worked at the Bible Baptist Church in Wichita Falls, Texas. Adrian's
been music director, youth director and Christian school principal for
pretty much his whole adult life and comes from a minister's family. Pam and
Adrian have three children -- Jennifer Reyes (28 and a pastor's wife), Julie
(20), and their first-born son Justin (14). Adrian and Pam believe with all
of their soul that serving Christ and His church is the highest of
professions and are wholly dedicated to ministering to the people of TBT
through music that exalts and glorifies His name.
Alma
Cavaletto
Office Administrator
Alma has been office administrator for TBT for 28 years now and right-hand
woman to the staff. Alma has a background rich in organizational skills,
arriving at the church office after a 14-year career at the University of
Arizona as executive secretary in the Latin American Studies Department.
Being born and raised in Mexico and a graduate of the University of Mexico,
Alma is a gift to the Spanish Church as well at TBT, and has helped
immeasurably in furthering the cause of Christ in both languages. She and
Oscar, her life partner of 55 years, have two grown daughters and four
grandchildren. The most recent pride of Alma's life is her new great
grandbaby.
Sharon
Termani
Bus Minister
Sharon has been at TBT since 1992, serving in the capacity of Sunday School
teacher and superintendent. She continues today as one of our top-notch
teachers, teaming with her husband, Dan, to win Teacher Of The Month awards
time after time. Now she's applying her organizational skills to the TBT bus
ministry. She has a good and generous heart, always making time to help
children come to Sunday School and know Christ. Sharon's greatest love is
and will remain her love for the Lord. Her commitment and devotion to
service to Him is an inspiration to all that know her.
Virginia
Deschamps
Special Events Specialist & New Born Welcomer
Virginia accepted Christ as a teen at a TBT kids' Halloween
activity. She dedicated her life at a young age to the glory
of Christ and His work and has volunteered in many avenues of the
ministry, including the bus ministry, the Beginner 4 Department, and
the Primary Department. Virginia has been TBT's nursery
superintendent since 1989 and is the designer and instigator of all
that goes into special events, such as picnics, the annual Anniversary Day
festivities, and the teacher/worker banquets.
She organizes the behemoth of supplies for the Sunday school
departments, and still has time to sing solos, play the bells with
the Baptist Bell Band, and raise two wonderful teenagers. She is
TBT's Renaissance Woman!
